1. It all starts long before the wedding day
When a couple chooses the Dolomites, they’re not just choosing a location. They’re choosing an emotion.
Many of my weddings take place in iconic locations such as:
- Lake Braies
- Seceda
- Gardena Pass
- Lake Carezza
Each of these locations behaves differently based on:
- Season
- Hours
- Direction of light
- Tourist influx
- Weather conditions
Before the wedding I study:
- Sunrise and sunset angle
- Shadow areas
- Alternative plans in case of bad weather
- Strategies for avoiding crowds
This preparation allows me to move naturally on the wedding day.
Stress-free. Without rushing.
2. I don’t chase poses. I chase moments.
The biggest mistake in mountain weddings?
Forcing poses.
The Dolomites already have a powerful presence. If you focus too much, the images become artificial.
I prefer to drive lightly.
I create space for:
- Real laughter
- The wind that moves the dress
- The silence before the promises
- The hands that seek each other
A wedding is not a shoot.
It’s a story that unfolds in real time.
And my job is to stay present.
3. In the mountains, light is everything
The light in the mountains is unpredictable.
Midday can be tough.
The sun can disappear behind a peak 30 minutes earlier than expected.
Clouds can transform a scene in seconds.
In places like Cadini di Misurina or Alpe di Siusi the light changes quickly.
This is where experience makes the difference.
I know when to wait.
I know when to move.
I know when to use dramatic light.
And when to soften it.
I don’t fight the mountain.
I work with it.
4. I tell the whole story, not just the epic shot
Yes, the epic photo with the mountains counts.
But your wedding is not just one image.
